EXAMPLES OF SELF-LOVE
What are some healthy examples of self-love you can use now?
Examples of self-love could be good music, a 1000-piece inspirational jigsaw puzzle, and gardening.
As a child, I have always enjoyed music. My sister says I'm an MTV baby. I could be at work or in the grocery store and break out in a song and dance. Even though I haven't mastered my voice yet, I'll still sing my heart out.

This post is all about examples of self-love.
AWESOME EXAMPLES OF SELF-LOVE:
1. Music can be a healthy outlet.
A healthy way to express your passion without hurting yourself or anyone else is through music. Let God fill you with all joy as you sing His praises.
"O come, let us sing unto the LORD; let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation." -Psalms 95:1 KJV
2. Embrace your quirks and all.
Another example of self-love is embracing your quirks and all. You don't think like everyone else and analyze obvious things because you're looking for the root cause of a particular behavior. Maybe the inner child in you must know the whys in life because you love to learn, not that you're being a smart aleck. Some people enjoy solving problems, not that they're know-it-alls.
One of my quirks is I wholeheartedly believe where there is a need, there is a way. Fulfilling a need will never be impossible because my father is with me. In fact, my heavenly father says in Philippians 4:19 KJV, "But my God shall supply all my need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus." He is the need that fulfills all my needs.
Embracing all of you is freeing. You free yourself of self-doubt and boost your confidence at the same time.
3. Make time for yourself.
Your self-love journey could start in isolation but flourish into healthy bouts of "me time." You get re-energized from "me time." Hearing from God may become easy when it's quiet enough. He may whisper inspirational melodies into your heart, prompting you to play a favorite song.
I remember as a freshman embracing my "me time" during my first year of college. Further, I discovered another positive outlet in jigsaw puzzles. Thanksgiving 2006, I happily spent alone. My transition to college was rough, and I didn't want to go home and pretend my family's jokes didn't crush me.
Instead, I opened a puzzle by Annie Lee called Preach On. When I initially saw the picture on the front box, it reminded me of the music at the church revivals I used to attend. Revivals were the best time to hear from visiting churches and their choirs. I discovered my love for puzzles seventeen years ago and wouldn't change that quirky discovery for the world.
Also, jigsaw puzzles are not just fun, but they can stimulate the mind. Many of us require mental stimuli. Puzzles can also reduce stress and give you a sense of satisfaction.
4. Try Gardening to Practice using the Power of Yes and Amen.
Another example of self-love sounds like yes and amen. Whatever God has for you, let your answer be Yes and Amen. On those words, you can stand. Despite the fear, you can go where He leads, even if you have to go alone. Yes, and Amen.
My heavenly Father will nudge an idea for me to explore. He knows I enjoy learning new things, and my response is typically, why not try? I love embracing new endeavors. While the chaos ensued in 2020, I recently discovered my two favorite words are yet and try. Because I leaned into the obedience of Yes and Amen, I shifted my mindset to anticipate greatness when I try new things.

My Yes and Amen led me to start gardening in 2020. Seeing the greenery was much more pleasant than social media at the time. I spent months deep-diving into what plants needed and the various ways to grow despite the environment. Watching videos about gardening in containers where the gardener used regular storage bins to grow potatoes, carrots, and even watermelons was surprisingly soothing. I never thought to have a green thumb, but the idea of food coming from a tiny seed feels like a miracle to watch firsthand.
Practicing Yes and Amen takes the limits off of your life, creates excitement, and gives you something to look forward to with anticipation. In essence, Yes and Amen gives you hope.
Psalm 34:8 KJV, "O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.
5. Know you're never alone.
You may have thought you started your self-love journey alone. Rest and assure, you never alone.

"Let your conversation be without covetousness, and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me." -Hebrews 13:5-6 KJV
That scripture has pushed me to turn my yet and try into yes and amen. This choice I have yet to regret.
Music, puzzles, and gardening are great examples of self-love, to start with, but I implore you to explore more healthy ways to love yourself.
